Forbes Korea released its annual earnings chart revealing who in K-Pop earned the most in the first half of 2014.
Girls’ Generation’s took the number one spot among girl groups earning 880 million Taiwan Dollars (~28.3 million USD), while 2NE1 earned slightly less – 800 million Taiwan Dollars (~26.7 million USD). However, it is 2NE1 that has more income per member who earns a total of 200 million Taiwan Dollars (~6.7 million UDS), while Girls’ Generation received “only” 98 million Taiwan Dollars (~3.2 Million USD) per member.
T-ara was revealed to be on the third place, closely following 2NE1, with 690 million Taiwan Dollars (~23 million USD).
As for boy groups, Super Junior defeated BIGBANG earning 910 million Taiwan Dollars (~31 million USD), while the YG Entertainment‘s group had an income worth 850 million Taiwan Dollars (~ 28 million USD). Other groups from SM Entertainment – EXO, SHINee and TVXQ – have also made it to top 10.
