There’s been a rumor around saying that 2NE1‘s CL was going to take Fergie’s spot on Black Eyed Peas‘ upcoming comeback since the American singer had already announced that she would not feature on the new album.
For fans, it seemed likely that CL would be stepping to fill that role since she is close friends with WILL.I.AM and, when he’d asked her to collaborate with them on Twitter, and she quickly agreed. However, there was no official confirmation of the collaboration until CL posted on her Instagram. She posted one picture of her in the studio and many others that looked like she was shooting a music video, she finally posted a picture with Taboo, tagging him and saying “#THEBLACKEYEDPEAS#20thANNIVERSARYALBUM#COMINGSOON“
This was totally CL saying that she will indeed collaborate with the boys, even if it’s not to take Fergie’s spot in the album. The final photo she posted was sure to make fans the most excited; a photo of her and WILL.I.AM:
CL and the other 2NE1 members have already collaborated with WILL.I.AM, but not for something so official like this. Since she’s planning on having her U.S. debut this year, working with Black Eyed Peas for an official song might be the right way to introduce her before her solo debut, since people will already know her.
Are you excited for this collaboration? Stay tuned to find out more about it!
