CL‘s giving a warm hello to fans in a mini-promotion before she takes on the United States for her solo debut disguised as a comeback.
YG Entertainment dropped some pretty interesting teasers for his annual ‘Who’s Next?‘ line-up which led fans to believe a long and over do comeback for his powerhouse girl group 2NE1 was on the horizon especially with a comeback date such as November 21. Fans were extremely shaken when they soon learned that it was the leader of 2NE1 that would be the one making her comeback. On November 21st the track was released free for download on Soundcloud and the performance video which went viral instantly, proving nothing was stopping CL’s ultimate star power.
The music video was directed, produced, and choreographed by famed choreographer Parris Goebel who is known for working with major names such as Jennifer Lopez, but she is most known by K-Pop fans for choreographing Taeyang‘s ‘Ringa Linga‘ and BIGBANG‘s summer smash ‘BANG BANG BANG‘ which she even made an appearance in. Also in the video is Parris Goebel’s dance crew ReQuest Dance Crew. The track was composed by producer Teddy and Jean–Baptiste, while Teddy, CL, Danny Chung, and Jean-Baptiste composed the lyrics.
When discussing ‘Hello Bitches‘ and her budding music career in general CL revealed, “I feel blessed to have good people who support and trust me. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I wanted to do something for the fans, and I love how this music video came out. I wanted to share it just for people to enjoy so it’s free music…it’s a gift to my fans.”
You can watch the music video below only if you are over 18, the music video has been rated as age restrictive.
The choreography much like the song is fast pasted and hits numerous points that could leave anyone fighting to breathe. As a dancer myself I really enjoyed the energy as well as the choreography hitting all the high points in the fast paced song, ReQuest Dance Crew along with CL are impeccably flawless. The video itself portrays impressive special effects much like in Mino‘s ‘I’m Him‘ the performance video is nothing but pure energy even the costumes portray this intimidating girl power. While I do enjoy the song and the performance video, I do wish there was a little more to the beginning of the track as it appears a bit unfinished. ‘Hello Bitches’ may not be a work of art, but the lyrics are catchy, pretty well written and over all a fun song. The track itself really has this Austin Powers feel, which is what the music reminded me of but it’s very sexy.
