After many mysterious teasers, Crayon Pop’s Soyul has finally dropped her solo debut MV as a collaboration between her group and Rainbow Bridge Agency.
“Y-Shirt” features Yang Jeong Mo and is a cheerful song about a girl who is completely in love with her boyfriend when he wears shirts. It’s completely different from all Crayon Pop’s songs and we’re able to listen to Soyul’s vocal abilities in a way that isn’t possible in a group.
The music video however, has obvious traces from the group. Not only because the rest of the girls make appearances in the video, but the story itself. The MV tells the story about a tailor (Soyul) who’s been very tired of making shirts. When she is asleep, her room is invaded by fairies (the other members from Crayon Pop), who transform her mannequins into real, hot guys. It’s extremely funny, make sure you watch it below:
It’s cool to see an artist with such a potential debut solo, because we feel like her talents are being recognized. We hope Soyul will succeed with her single and that she’ll release future solo singles in the future.
Soyul is not the only artist to debut solo in the beginning of 2015 and although some of them (like SHINee’s Jonghyun and CNBLUE’s Yonghwa) have already dropped their solo singles, many are still to come such as Afterschool‘s Lizzy, f(x)‘s Amber and TEEN TOP‘s Niel, so let’s wait for them!
