Review:
In ‘Little Forest‘, the characters embrace nature and food. Hye-won moves back to her rural hometown after getting sick and tired of living in the city. Her life is not going well, and she attempts to have a new start by returning to the country. Even though she has a rocky relationship with her single mother, Hye-won does her best to live well. She spends a lot of time hanging out with her close friends, one of which approaches the romance stage. However, the movie focuses more on how Hye-won rediscovers herself in the country.
A large portion of the movie focuses on food. Hye-won enjoys food and the joy that comes from cooking. Some scenes show the detailed process of how she makes the food from scratch. As it is a farming village, all of the food is fresh and local. The audience will definitely get hungry while watching this movie as the dishes presented are from a range of cuisines. Living in a rural village, cooking is one of Hye-won’s only hobbies and pastimes.
‘Little Forest‘ teaches a worthwhile lesson about going back to your roots. No matter where you go, you should not lose touch with where you originate from. Even though the ending was not expected, it will surely leave you wanting more.
