Review:
Out of all the movies that I have watched so far for KOFFIA, ‘Stand By Me‘ has definitely made me cry the most. It tells the story of how a grandfather struggles to raise his two young grandchildren. Even though the relationship between the eldest son and the grandfather is a bit rocky, the film ultimately shows the love between them. The heartbreaking moment at the end will undoubtedly leave anyone in tears. This movie explores the theme of the importance of family. Many characters make huge sacrifices for their loved ones, which shows the extent to which family members would go to out of love.
My heart really went out to this family. The two children were deprived of many things due to their background, and the grandfather had to work really hard to raise his grandchildren. This was heartbreaking to watch, considering the grandfather’s old age and declining health. Not only did it depict the struggles of reality, but it taught me to appreciate the little things in life. We often take our family and surroundings for granted.
‘Stand By Me‘ taught me that family always comes first, no matter what. Despite all the difficulties that the characters have to endure, they will always prioritise family. The love between the two children and their grandfather is incredibly heartwarming, and will bring tears of joy to people’s eyes.
