Ladies, gentlemen, and most especially #Rebels: prepare yourselves. Transparent Agency in partnership with The Yoo Group has announced that K-R&B sensation DEAN is about to kick off his first full US tour! After a few appearances at KCONs and SXSW, a number of Club Eskimo shows in Canada, then two similarly surprise – and sold out – shows in the US last year, DEAN has decided that, despite a jam-packed schedule, he wants to return to see his fans in the USA. And if you’re not on DEAN’s Instagram then you might not have heard: the rumor is, this tour will follow hot on the heels of him releasing a collab with The Internet‘s fellow future-soul vocalist, Syd!
The collab is supposed to drop sometime before the end of April, and the DEAN x Club Eskimo tour will kick off on May 6th in Los Angeles with a completely free performance as the headliner at Identity LA. This celebration of Asian Pacific American heritage will see DEAN and two other Club Eskimo crew members – singer MISO and producer 2XXX! – take the stage along with folk-pop group Us the Duo and producer and EDM artist Giraffage. The concert will feature a number of other acts as well, including Virginia-based rappers Year of the Ox and LA based DJ Zo (both from Dumbfoundead’s recent ‘We Might Die Tour’), neo-R&B crooner and beat-maker Starro (who appeared with DEAN at the sold out Transparent Live Sessions last December), soulful LA based DJ Kronika, Desi ska-punk band Doctors&Engineers, sultry songstress Tenelle, and South Korean singer SAAY.
If you’re not able to make the LA gig though, no worries. While the crew’s schedule only allows a few more dates, they’ll add jazzy duo offonoff to head up to California‘s Bay Area on the 8th, then to Dallas on the 10th, New York City on the 12th, and closing in Chicago on May 14th. SAAY, who happens to be Universal Music Korea’s newest artist, will also tag along after the festival to open the shows.
Ticket prices and venues other than LA’s Grand Park for the free Identity LA festival have not yet been announced, but you can keep up with details on Transparent Agency’s website, join the tour Facebook page, and stay tuned here at Officially KMusic for the latest updates and information as well as our coverage of these events and more!
