Director Kim Jo Gwang Su, who announced that he will be marrying his same-sex lover Kim Seung Hwan in September, has now revealed that they will both be wearing dresses at their wedding.
During the press conference reporters have received the answer for a practical question that probably have popped up in the minds of some – who will be wearing the dress?
Kim Jo Gwang Su said, “The ceremony won′t be held with gender roles commonly used by heterosexuals. It will be held like a performance. In the beginning we will both appear in tuxedos, then change into wedding dresses later on.”
He also commented the issue of children, “I′m old, and I don′t like children very much, so we don′t have any plans to adopt any yet.”
However, his lover, Kim Seung Hwan, shared: “The issue of homosexuals adopting children is a resolved issue overseas. Now, more attention is being paid to how homosexuals will bring up their children and how the children grow in such environments.”
The director finished: “We believe that homosexuals must be given the same rights given to heterosexuals through this marriage. We will work hard to make gay marriage legal.”
Before he left, he kissed Kim Seung Hwan and added: “I am open to all interviews related to gay marriage.”
The wedding will be held on September 7th. Their honeymoon will take the couple to Cuba.
