Last episode, Yoo Jin made a shocking reveal on her way to the police station, stating that Anna is the blood related daughter to her assemblyman husband, Jang Se Joon. This news comes much to the shock of Anna, Yoo Jin’s brother, Sung Won, Je Ha, and rival Park Kwan Soo.
Episode 13 returns to the scene with the stunned viewers as Yoo Jin confesses, crying. The journalists swarm Se Joon with question, but he resists saying he’ll reveal all once his wife is inside. Yoo Jin once again faints, and is pulled into investigation room in a wheelchair. A furious Sung Won quickly makes his way to the side of Se Joon, and Se Joon begins to lash out asking how he could be so deceived by Yoo Jin. It is then revealed that the witness he and Anna had visited was an actor hired by Yoo Jin to trick them. With a confused Sung Won left in his trail, Se Joon makes his way to a press conference. During the press conference, Se Joon goes over his relationship with Anna’s mother leading up to the reveal of Anna. However, Se Joon twists his words stating that Anna’s mother blackmailed him and Yoo Jin, forcing Se Joon to have no choice but to stick with her. He continues on reassuring that the police report was correct in saying that Anna’s mother died by suicide much to the absolute fury of Anna.
In the investigation room, Yoo Jin gains the upper hand as the “witness,” and states his claims so that he could gain a better lawyer from Sung Won. This is much to the dismay of the police chief and head investigator. As Yoo Jin is released, Sung Won tells Anna that the witness is fake and plays it off as a good thing that they weren’t charged. Still in Cloud Nine, Je Ha confronts Dong Mi, lashing out about how it hurts Anna. Dong Mi fights back saying it was for the good of Yoo Jin. The police chief tries to play dumb with Yoo Jin, stating it was his duty to investigate after the damaging article. However, Yoo Jin decides to not play along and reveals she knows he’s on the side of Kwan Soo. She plays her sympathy card once again leaving the police station on a wheelchair into a stretcher. When she goes back to the hospital, a chorus of “get well soons” await her. In her room, Sung Won waits for her and a mysterious bug is placed in a plant as they chat. Je Ha listened in as Yoo Jin makes plans for Anna to leave Korea. As well as have her caretakers, aside from Je Ha, to be ‘taken care of’. After everyone is gone, Yoo Jin relives the night Anna’s mother died remembering her final plea to let Anna live.
Back at the house, Anna continuously tries to get hold of Sung Won. However, her attempts are to no avail. As her calls don’t go through, Je Ha meets her in her room. They go to their spot on the roof where Anna apologizes for lying, not realizing she was being tricked. Je Ha comforts her saying she has to gear up for their biggest fight yet. When a car suddenly rolls up, he encourages her to see her father and she obliges. Once alone together, Se Joon apologizes for not being truthful in their first meeting at the hospital until the press conference. He explains that he couldn’t do anything because of Yoo Jin, but Anna will have none of it. She lashes out saying that politics shouldn’t be the only thing he cares about and she knows that the feelings he expressed at the hospital weren’t all lies. Realizing he has to help Anna gain the love back for her father, Je Ha storms to Cloud Nine.
A sequence goes on of Anna watching as her father and Yoo Jin play politics getting every bit of attention they can on themselves. Je Ha spends hours on end squeezing everything he can out of Mirror. As the sequence closes, Dong Mi eyes Je Ha suspiciously in Cloud Nine and Anna visits her mother. At the grave, Yoo Jin approaches with a bouquet of flowers for Anna’s mother. She talks with Anna about growing up without a mother and reveals that the awful stepmother she had was the mistress of her father and is Sung Won’s mother. Yoo Jin throws Anna a bone saying she can get out of her position by leaving the country. As she walks away Anna challenges her saying she wants to get proper revenge for her mother’s death. Yoo Jin plays into her challenge and reveals all about Je Ha, that he had a fiance and he can’t leave the country, not because of her murder but because of the unnecessary killing of civilians. The only reason he isn’t in jail is because of her. This revelation leaves Anna utterly speechless.
As Yoo Jin and Se Joon continue to look good for the cameras, they leave separately. However, Je Ha catches the eye of Se Joon. Je Ha offers something that Se Joon couldn’t possibly refuse; the chance to be a good father to Anna. He further reveals that he has a way for Se Joon to win the presidency and get out of the clutches of Yoo Jin. But this is under one condition, Se Joon must reveal who truly killed Anna’s mother. In Cloud Nine, Yoo Jin finds out just what Je Ha had been searching for the entire time. Mirror reveals that he’s been looking into the corruption of Kwan Soo that ended in the death of his fiance. At the same time Je Ha summarizes the basics of what happened in Iraq to Se Joon, and that Yoo Jin has plans for Anna and her caretakers. Yoo Jin gets a startling revelation that the son of the current president, Kim Suk Han, is mixed up in it all. On top of it he is the head of the psychiatric department that was eyeing Je Ha when Anna had paid them a visit. In the hospital, Je Ha gains access to the security cameras and keeps a close eye on Suk Han. Je Ha then pays a visit Kwan Soo toying with him until he reveals that he knows all about what happened in Iraq.
Dong Mi tells Yoo Jin about the meeting and Yoo Jin realizes this will decide the next president of Korea. She tells Chief Joo to prepare back up for Je ha.
At the hospital, Kwan Soo pays a visit realizing he must get the evidence before Je Ha. He gets a chance to be with Suk Han alone telling him that he must get rid of the evidence before it’s too late. Je Ha watches on and then realizes that Chief Joo is with him. He makes a plan to have the back up make it obvious they’re watching Suk Han in order for Suk Han to get nervous and move the evidence. ( When it becomes too much for Suk Han, he reaches for something but stops himself realizing he’s being watched. Je Ha and the back up search for the evidence as Suk Han makes a call. He calls none other than Sung Won who, along with his team, makes their decision of the next president. As the episode closes, the back up makes it obvious they found the evidence. Je Ha is pulled by Suk Han’s guard back as he examines and sees the evidence is still there, as well as reveals where it is much to the delight of Je Ha.
Episode 14 continues as Je Ha fights his way to the memory card against both Suk Han’s bodyguards, and Kwan Soo’s goons. The fight continues onto the parking structure where Je Ha is the only thing blocking Suk Han from the ground below. Je Ha swings Suk Han onto the platform below and gets the card as well. He jumps onto a truck but is shot in the side, rendering him useless. He hides the card amongst the grass as Chief Joo grabs him into the van. They rush to save Je Ha, as the police attempt to block their way. Yoo Jin and Anna are both informed of this news and are in utter shock. The chief of police gets wind of the fact that it’s the presidents son whom Je Ha injured and demands his capture. Anna prays as the rest of the house watches on while JSS is put under scrutiny of the police and the chase ensues. Kwan Soo receives a call from the police as he watches the events unfold as well. He demands that they storm Cloud Nine and get a hold of the information it has. Je Ha is rushed into the JSS headquarters and Yoo Jin insists he comes to Cloud Nine so the police don’t get to him. The doctor becomes a Cloud Nine member as Yoo Jin frantically gets her to save Je Ha.
As the chief of police storm the JSS headquarters, Je Ha fights for his life on the make shift operating room where his vitals begin to fail. As Je Ha lays dying, he’s taken into his own fantasies of a romantic date with Anna and a life without the drama of Yoo Jin. He imagines leaving for Spain with Anna but as they leave his side begins to bleed.
Outside of Je Ha’s fantasy, the head of JSS takes the chief of police to the ninth floor where they discover the “main frame,” which is purely a decoy set from Yoo Jin. Sung Won and his men are delighted at his downfall but suddenly realize that Je Ha may have been successful at stealing the memory card. Meanwhile, Suk Han wakes up and realizes that his memory card is in the hands of Je Ha. He then orders that all pursuit of Je Ha must be stopped. At that, Yoo Jin and Kwan Soo realize that Je Ha must’ve gotten his hands on the card as well. Yoo Jin gleefully realizes the security she now has with everyone thinking she has the card. Sung Won visits Suk Han but gets nothing when he pokes at him about the card. He then realizes that since Je Ha was the one attempting to get it, Yoo Jin must have it. Se Joon thinks back, realizing the potential of Yoo Jin having the card, to what Je Ha presented him. As Chief Joo searches the grounds where Je Ha was shot for the memory card. Se Joon approaches Chief Joo revealing the card was meant for him, much to the shock of Joo. Se Joon attempts to sway Joo telling him that he needs the card to create a better Korea.
At the JSS Headquarters, Anna bursts in trying to find Je Ha. Yoo Jin tries to get her out but as Anna is leaving, Yoo Jin runs into her. Yoo Jin toys with Anna asking her to call her mom, as Anna begs to see Je Ha. Anna on her last leg, calls Yoo Jin mom and pleads one last time. Yoo Jin complies and brings Anna to Cloud Nine. As Anna looks at Je Ha in Cloud Nine, Yoo Jin informs her that the only way to save Je Ha and herself, is if Anna leaves. When she explains that’s there’s nothing Je Ha can do in his current state, Anna agrees to leave as long as Je Ha remains safe. Anna goes in to see Je Ha and breaks down seeing him in the state he’s in. She desperately begs him to live. She places a kiss on his lips and tells him that she loves him and repeats that he must live.
Later on, Yoo Jin meets with Se Joon and informs him that Anna is to be sent away to the fashion designer. She toys with Se Joon telling him that because of what he said about Anna’s mother, she no longer has her ‘angel’ status, she continues to taunt by telling him how she’ll be a mother to Anna and informs that Anna called her mom.
In the group meeting, Sung Won informs everyone that he’s certain that Suk Han’s card is gone. As they discuss what to do next, Yoo Jin sends them all a text making sure they think she’s got the card. As he leaves, Sung Won gets the attention of the head of JSS and offers him a ride and a chat.
Back at the house, J4 and the housekeeper prepare Anna’s bags to leave but worry about their own deaths. Anna informs them that they’ll be okay and attempts to reassure herself that she’s doing the right thing.
Meanwhile, Sung Won meets with Kwan Soo. Sung Won reveals he was part of the Iraq deal and that he knows just where Cloud Nine is located.
In Cloud Nine, Je Ha wakes up and the doctor informs Yoo Jin. He asks about Anna and she reveals that she visited. He gets mirror to show him what happened during the visit and gets teary eyed as he watches Anna kiss him and tell him she loves him. Yoo Jin looks on and apologizes to herself saying that love is a luxury people like them can’t afford.
Back with Sung Won, he and Kwan Soo make a plan to invade the JSS headquarters with the help of the head of JSS.
Je Ha is approached by Yoo Jin and her team asking about the card. He tells her that he stole it but not for her. She couldn’t do the damage that he wants to Kwan Soo because it would sacrifice the JB group and that Sung Won is a key figure in the deal. Yoo Jin accepts this and says it’ll be just for security, but Je Ha tells her that it’s not for her protection but as a new form of blackmail. The head of JSS is furious at Yoo Jin. Once he goes back upstairs, he quickly switches to asking Chief Joo what he’s doing in order to plan the attack. Back in Cloud Nine Yoojin is now alone with Je Ha. She confronts him but Je Ha lashes back telling her he can’t be by her side when she doesn’t care about others and that she needs sheep like Dong Mi.
Outside, Kwan Soo’s team storms JSS while Sung Won happily walks past the fighting. The head of JSS meets with them and takes Sung Won along with a large container down to Cloud Nine. As the episode ends, Je Ha continues to lash at Yoo Jin but is interrupted when they realize they won’t be alone for long.
This drama, I swear I’ve not been more addicted since ‘W.’The acting continues to stun with it’s various twists, and I barely know who to root for. At this point it’s Anna, but I also love Yoo Jin so much it’s hard to want something bad to happen to her. With that said, Je Ha’s last conversation with her definitely hit a nerve. It’s clear Je Ha was never meant to be a puppet and Yoo Jin just wanted someone on her side for the first time in her life. It’s so so hard not to sympathize with her despite how much I love to see her fall. And to those lashing out at Yoona for her acting, she’s playing a women who has known nothing but death and being locked away. Of course she’s innocent and doesn’t know how to play mind games like Yoo Jin, who’s been doing this all her life! There’s only two episodes left much to my sadness. So it’s gonna be very interesting to see how Je Ha gets out of it this time with his injury. I was really worried about him after the last two episodes because it seemed he was starting to choose sides, which is unlike him. But he finally came back to his own especially in these last two episodes. He’s going back to the runaway soldier who’s got a soft spot but is his own person. I’m actually glad he didn’t ask mirror anything about Yoo Jin. It’s obvious he wouldn’t get the answers he needs and instead focused on his mission to finally take down Kwan Soo. I also really hope in the next two episodes we see that success and he stops Anna from leaving. (Forever rooting for the ramen/blanket/rooftop couple).
Aside from the awkward product placement, these two are definitely 10/10! Hopefully the last two episodes don’t disappoint.
