It’s the end of the year, and of course like many, we’d like to pull out the red carpet and list out our best of the best favorites in K-Pop for 2015. For those of you who remember from last time we did something similar to this, I think this choice is pretty obvious.
Unnecessary drumroll please…
BoA, my beautifully talented, graceful and ever inspiring queen. Both her Korean and Japanese comebacks were impressive, so I’ll choose my favorite song from both languages that were released this year.
First, let’s take a look at her Japanese single, “Lookbook.” The title single is BoA trying her hand at EDM, and it’s rather successful might I say.
Her choreography, as always, is flawless and the song is as catchy as ever. Separating the dancing and acting scenes by color gave the video a bit of character, and seeing her in multiple elements such as at home, partying made the video all the more interesting.
Next is her Korean comeback with her 8th studio album, “Kiss My Lips.” Every song was written by BoA, which makes the album all the more special. My favorite song was originally “Kiss My Lips” but throughout the countless times I’ve listened to the album, I’ve actually come to love the secondary single, “Who Are You” featuring Gaeko a lot more.
I also love the fact that BoA wanted to focus more on a storyline in this music video, and would have rather stayed out of it. Of course, with it being her music video she couldn’t so she opted for a cameo instead.
This year may not have held many releases for the Queen of K-Pop, but what was released was a treasure trove of awesome!
