Each year, as the world’s largest Korean culture convention and musical festival, KCON presented by Toyota features star-studded concerts and hosts special conventions for a whopping three days to bring attendees everything popular in Korean culture. As the ever-growing demand for Korean culture continues, KCON is now hosted in new countries like Abu Dhabi, France, and Japan, allowing fans all over the world an experience of their K-Pop life! 2016 marks the 5th anniversary of KCON USA as it returns to Los Angeles (July 29-31st) and New York (June 24-25th).
This year, KCON LA concerts returns to the Staples Center, as it boasts performances on both Saturday (July 30th) and Sunday (July 31st) from some of the biggest and hottest names in K-pop: TaeTiSeo, BTS, SHINee, CNBLUE, Block B, DEAN, GFRIEND, TWICE, ASTRO, and I.O.I! More artists will be announced!
Kicking off the convention will be “Klub KCON” on Friday, July 29th, featuring Block B as special guests to help jumpstart the festivities as the latest and hottest K-Pop hits are played. You definitely don’t want to miss the manic performance energy of Block B!
In the meanwhile, attendees can immerse themselves at the Los Angeles Convention Center in all aspects of Korean culture, with activities and participation from major names in K-Beauty, K-Fashion, K-Dance, K-Music, and much more. Guests are encouraged to speak to professionals of the Korean entertainment and lifestyle industries to learn tips and tricks while trendy Korean products are made available for purchase. This year, KCON brings back the attendees-favorite Beauty Block, where attendees can pick up the latest tips and tricks to look like your favorite Korean celebrity.
For those interested in the avid gaming culture of Korea, LA Live will host some of the most popular games. Attendees are encouraged to swing by to watch top competitors of the E-Sports industry compete against each other and maybe try your skills if you dare.
Food is an integral part of Korean culture, so KCON is partnering with KTOWN Night Market to take over Chick Hearn Court. Attendees can indulge their tastebuds with over 50 delicious and popular food choices. “Food Street” is free admission and open to the public.
Tickets for KCON LA have been set back to begin June 10th, while tickets for KCON NY are ongoing now. Prices range from $50-$800, with varying levels of concert and convention access. Go to www.kconusa.com for more information.
