On October 26th, rookie boy group EPEX returned with their new title track, ‘Do 4 Me’. The track comes off their 2nd mini album, ‘Bipolar Pt.2: Prelude of Love’. This marks the group’s 1st comeback off their May debut.
Lyrically, the song is an innocent declaration trying to explain the complex process and emotions with love. Its funky bassline, guitar and claps collate together forming a light disco-y treat. Contrasting to their debut, the pure and refreshing concept is a welcome surprise. Although there are exceptions, it is always appreciated when these concepts which used to have a larger prevalence come in the 4th generation. The sing song and groovy nature of the bridge lends to the perky piece.
Making a splash with their 1st mini album, ‘Bipolar Pt.1: Prelude to Anxiety’, the title track, ‘Lock Down’ fittingly suited the surroundings of the world at the time (and currently still in the midst in). Despite their young ages (members all born between 2002-2005), they demonstrated charismatic charms, accumulated a steady stream of fans. The EP has sold just shy of 50,000 copies in the six months since its release.

A cat theme spreads across the music video. With one of sets being an oversized cat play field, we see the members wearing youthful colourful clothing. With massive cat paw gloves, and school uniform inspired looks, the boys show off their boyish looks and expressions.
