Teasing us with the short 53 second preview of what was to come, Infinite released the full “Dilemma” music video, ahead of when we thought it would be released.
We were waiting for the possibility that maybe Universal Music Japan might upload it to their YouTube channel, since they did the music video teaser, but no such luck. So, as usual, we’ve had to do a bit of digging to find and watch it.
Now, on to the music video and song! First of all, the song is glorious, and the collaboration between Infinite and musician Tomoyasu Hotei was amazing. Since this is the only original Japanese song Infinite has done, I hope that if they continue to do original songs, they will collaborate with Tomoyasu again.
And the music video was just as beautiful as the song. The incorporation of the various types of musical instruments and even the band were nice touches. The entire video has a dark, angsty vibe which we rarely get to see from Infinite, but I’m glad we did because like with many groups, styles and concepts are often changing and it’s good to see what other types of looks they can pull off.
I can honestly say that the first time I watched it, to me, the dance didn’t really fit the song. However, now that I’ve watched this music video more than 20 times in the past week, I now realize that the choreography couldn’t have fit more perfectly.
From the members busting and smashing instruments to the screen figuratively shattering, and even that weird scene with Sungyeol locking himself in that wooden casket, this music video was really awesome, and I have yet to be disappointed by any of Infinite’s songs; both Korean and Japanese.
If you haven’t gotten to watch it since it’s been out, make sure to check out “Dilemma” below while it’s available!
