On June 7th, SM Entertainment boy group EXO finally made their return with their newest comeback MV for the title track ‘Don’t Fight the Feeling’. Along with this, they also dropped their 5-track special album of the same name.
This comeback marks the group’s return since November 2019. Pre-orders for the album exceeded 1.2 million copies, beating the group’s personal record. There is definitely no stopping the veteran group with continuing success into their 9th year. Check out the new title track MV down below!
EXO ‘DON’T FIGHT THE FEELING’ MV:
The lead single is a light energetic dance track that states to simply own up to your mistakes and move on with life to your next goal. Its rhythmic bass that pulsates through the chorus gives the track a nice groove. Combined with minor vocal flourishes with member Baekhyun and the recently returned D.O, the song will surely lift up your mood. Sonically, the tune strays away from the group’s (distant) previous comebacks. From the considerably sexier ‘Obsession’ and ‘Love Shot’, this recalls back to their more electronic fun sound from 2017’s ‘Power’.
Watching the MV, we see the group are ready to fly to space. Prepping their ship, the boy group wear head to toe black jackets and cargo pants seen in their teaser images. Dance portions of the individual members, along with backup dancers fill the performance with plenty of action. The small moments in the video we see of the members interacting being integrated into the choreography add a nice touch. Around the two minute mark, Chinese member Lay also makes his appearance with his dancing and singing. Fans will certainly be delighted as this marks his return to the group’s music since their 2018 album, ‘Don’t Mess Up My Tempo’. By the last refrain, the full group hold a dance party around the hall, celebrating their spaceship is now hovering outer space. The video concludes as the spaceship approaches a beam of light, and credits thanking their fandom, EXO-L.
EXO‘s special album, ‘Don’t Fight The Feeling’, featuring the identically named title track is available now.
