K-pop girl group, GFriend, has been performing well on local music chart, Gaon Chart, in the first half of this year.
Their single “Rough” scored No. 2 on its national digital singles, online downloads and online streaming charts. The single was released back in January as part of the group’s third EP “Snowflake.”
Their other single, “Me Gustas Tu,” which was part of its second EP “Flowers” scored No. 15 on the online streaming chart and placed No.20 in digital singles.
EXO came in at No. 1 in the physical albums ranking, the group’s latest full length studio album, “EX’ACT (Korean Version),” is presently the top selling album of the year so far. Despite only having been released less than two months ago (June 9th, 2016), they have already sold 524,823 copies! The Chinese version of “EX’ACT” ranked No. 3 with 242,432 copies sold.
The Gaon Music Chart records the popularity of songs and albums in Korea with data gathered by the Korea Music Content Industry. Gaon Music Chart aspires to be a music national chart that is similar to the Billboard Music Charts in the U.S.
