EXO has been all over our radar lately, with comeback news and images, a new concert and probable tour, and more new information rolling out by the minute. Amidst all this, let’s not forget that the boys have something very big to celebrate and that would be two years since their debut!
EXO-K and EXO-M released their debut single, “MAMA” on April 8th, 2012, which was followed by their EP of the same name. The song topped the charts in both China and Korea, as well as introduced the world to the 12 boys we now know as Kai, Lay, Luhan, Suho, Sehun, Xiumin, Chen, D.O., Kris, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Tao! We were wowed by the music video, which featured stunning graphics and mind-blowing dance moves. Other singles like “What is Love” and “History” further confirmed that EXO was a group to watch out for.
2013 brought the release of their first studio album, “XOXO.” The album was jointly promoted, whereas K and M promoted seperately for “MAMA.” The lead single, “Wolf,” also did extremely well on the charts. They wowed us once again in the video with their incredible dance skills, especially the unforgettable “tree” formation. The repackage of this album brought us “Growl,” which had a big win at the Melon Music Awards and showed the group’s versatility as a team. The group’s most recent EP, “Miracles in December,” garnered huge success and brought us a beautiful, heart-wrenching title track.
And now, here we are in 2014, gearing up for more EXO than ever before! This 2 year anniversary has got to feel extra special to the boys with all the exciting new ground they are covering. As you can see, EXO has accomplished a great deal in this short amount of time, and there is definitely cause for celebration.
Join us in saying happy anniversary to EXO! Check out the music video for “MAMA” below in both Korean and Chinese, and take a trip down memory lane. Tell us your favorite members and moments below!
