Born in New York, made in Seoul. That’s EXP Edition in a nutshell. EXP Edition is a K-pop group that is entirely made up of American members. The members are Frankie, Hunter, Koki and Šime.
The group was formed approximately 2 years ago at Columbia University as a project by student Bora Kim. Since then the group has released a couple of songs sung in both Korean and English. EXP Edition is currently in Korea trying to make it as a group. On April 16 they released their song,’Feel Like This‘. Watch their latest track below:
As with anything new and out of the ordinary, K-pop fans have not been happy with the group. Comments from their music videos stated that singing in Korean shouldn’t make them a K-pop group. “This is not K-pop. Where’s the dancing? Rap? All they’re doing is jumping around like western boy bands“, writes one fan. Others defended the group saying that they’ll improve with practice. “I completely understand and support this group. They’ll need to work really hard to get recognized, but so do all k-pop idols“, wrote a supporter.
