Earlier this month FT ISLAND announced that it would be making a Korean comeback on March 23.
Before the release of their title track “Pray”, the group has presented us with a pre-release music video for the Korean version of “To the Light” on March 17. The Japanese version of the song was apart of their 14th Japanese album that was released back in October 2014.
“To the Light” was composed and written by Lee Jae-jin the bassist and vocalist of the group. The song talks about the doubts, fears, regrets, and struggles that they have in their lives and their persistence to overcome them. In order for them to live they must believe in themselves and search for what gives them happiness.
The music video for the Korean version of “To the Light”, is a compilation of footage taken from FT ISLAND’s FTHX 2015 tour that went to: Paris, France, Santiago, Chile, Mexico City, Mexico, Los Angeles, and New York City at the beginning of this year. At first, most of the scenes are in black and white, then towards the end the video changes to full color.
The footage in the music video includes glimpses of FT ISLAND performing on stage and also some behind-the-scenes moments captured in various places such as airports, city streets, and dressing rooms.
Throughout the video we can see several shots of the audience where countless light sticks or signs can be seen being held up by the fans. Overall it shows the love and support that the fans give FT ISLAND.
