Hongki talks about his performance on where he cracked his voice.
On May 22nd, the singer guested on MBC‘s Radio Star and discussed about some topics. When he was asked what song he wants to play for a past memory, he chose MC the Max’s ‘Goodbye for Now‘.
He then recalled the incident which happened last 2008 on where he woke up with a high fever but he had to attend a ceremony and perform a song. He explained, “Our manager said, Hongki is sick, and asked if we could perform with an AR (All Recorded), but the broadcast staff said no. It must be live, I went to the hospital, but I wasn’t getting better. So, in the end, I went up on stage, and [my voice] wouldn’t work. Because it wouldn’t work, I was offbeat, flat, off-tune – I was going crazy. It was so hard.”
The singer said that a lot of his seniors comforted him after the performance. He said “The Super Junior members were one of the first to do so, Kang In hyung said this: ‘Hongki, are you feeling better? You were the best on that stage yesterday.’ Those words were really comforting.”
In other related news, Hongki will be making his big screen debut with ‘Passionate Goodbye’ which will premiere in Korea and Japan in June.
