American website, Fuse, released a list of “Rising Female Rappers” and two of the 10 women were 2NE1‘s leader, CL and Yoon Mi Rae aka Tasha.
Fuse explained why CL is hot, saying, “She’s the leader of K-pop girl group phenom 2NE1, but broke out on her own with 2013 solo single “The Baddest Female”. The vid earned over a million views in less than 24 hours. [She] Proven her ability to spit in Korean (see 2NE1′s 2011 single “I am the Best”) and English (she handles a verse on will.i.am‘s new record on “Gettin’ Dumb”).
The website has also mentioned her pictures she took with A$AP Rocky, Will Smith and Snoop Dogg as well as her famous performance for “I Love You” with a parrot on her shoulder.
As for the Yoon Mi Rae, the reporter wrote, ” [She] helped usher in a once-absent hip hop to South Korea in the late ’90s/early ’00s. Her group Uptown landed big hits like “Olla Olla” and “Let’s Meet Up Again.” She appeared on a remix to Far East Movement‘s Justin Bieber collab “Live My Life.”
They also mentioned that she has an upcoming collaboration with R&B singer Amerie as well as the fact that she created a Korean rap supergroup MFBTY whose song “Sweet Dream” was said, by BuzzFeedMusic, to be on the same level as PSY‘s “Gangnam Style.”
