CEO of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk scheduled a private meeting to decide the future of eliminated members of iKON Yang Hongseok and Jung Jinhyeong.
On the last episode MIX&MATCH the final 7th member was revealed to be Kim Donghyuk. He is joining the rest of iKON members B.I., Bobby, Kim Jinhwan, Jung Chanwoo, Song Yunhyeong and Koo Junhoe.
The shocking finale of this survival show left the two with uncertain future, and a YG Entertainment official revealed the following: “I was told that CEO Yang will be consulting the two regretfully eliminated trainees, Yang Hongsuk and Jung Jinhyeong, face-to-face tomorrow. This meeting that will be held between the three of them will result in a high possibility of the two trainees either remaining or being dismissed from the agency completely.”
At the beginning of the show the CEO stated that members who do not make it as a members of iKON, will be dismissed from YG to find their opportunities in other companies. He said: “I think it will be difficult for the two eliminated members to debut in YG Entertainment. I think they will have to debut with another agency, as I don’t have any plans to debut the eliminated members.”
There is precedent for trainees leaving YG and having huge careers. On the survival show that gave us Big Bang, there was a former YG trainee by the name of Jang Hyunseung. He was eliminated in the final elimination round in favor of Seungri. After that he left YG and got to debut with B2ST, becoming an integral member of that incredibly popular group. So whatever YG decides, we are pretty sure that this is not the end for them.
