After member Kim Eun Jung left Jewelry in January, many rumors rose about an upcoming disbandment. Since the girls haven’t had a comeback since last year, it appeared as if they were just waiting for the other members’ contracts to end, so the group could disband peacefully.
The possibility of an upcoming break-up seemed even more likely after the scandal involving the leader of ZE:A, in which he revealed that many artists from Star Empire (company of Jewelry, ZE:A and Nine Muses) were being abused in many ways, especially the girls. People began to guess if that was the real reason why Eun Jung and many members from Nine Muses have left.
Now, upon the end of the contract of member Ha Joo Yeon, Star Empire decided to speak up about Jewelry’s current situation.
They told Newsen, “Jewelry member, Ha Joo Yeon′s contract recently ended. Park Semi′s contract will end sometime this month. However, the disbandment of Jewelry has not been decided yet.”
They’ve also mentioned that since Semi is recording “Boarding House 24th St.,” they are waiting until the end of the show to discuss her contract situation.
Jewelry is a very old group who debuted in 2001, so it would be really sad to see them ending after so many years, since so few groups from that generation have lasted.
What do you think about this situation? Do you believe their disbandment is imminent, or that they might somehow work out their situation and continue as a trio? Let us know!
