G-Dragon has achieved a certified all-kill with the title track ‘Untitled, 2014’ from his solo album ‘Kwon Ji Yong’.
The song released on June 8, achieved the all-kill by ranking at the number 1 spot on all the daily and real-time music charts in Korea, along with the real-time Instiz chart. To achieve a perfect all kill, a song must be number 1 on all the real-time music charts plus Instiz’s Weekly iChart.
The release of ‘Untitled, 2014’ came as a surprise to fans who had been expecting ‘BULLSHIT’ to be the first track released from ‘Kwon Ji Yong’.
YG Entertainment had initially confirmed that G-Dragon would be promoting ‘BULLSHIT’ as the title track from the album. However, an updated track list of his new album confirmed the swap.
It is believed that the tracks were switched partly to avoid any backlash due to the potentially confronting title.
Although neither YG Entertainment, nor G-Dragon have revealed the reason behind the switch, it is believed that the decision to make the last-minute switch was made in consideration of T.O.P’s drug scandal and hospitalization.
Two other tracks from ‘Kwon Ji Yong’, ‘Super Star’ and ‘BULLSHIT’ are currently taking up the number 2 and number 3 spots on all six major music charts in Korea.
Meanwhile, the album ‘Kwon Ji Yong’ continues to dominate world-wide charts. G-Dragon has topped the album charts on iTunes in 39 different countries, including the United States, Argentina, Brazil and Spain. It is also siting in the TOP 10 list of many other countries.
This makes G-Dragon the artist with the most number 1’s on the iTunes album charts from Korea. He beats all previous records that were set by Psy and BTS.
