If we were to compare BIGBANG‘s leader, G-Dragon, to someone, we should compare him to Gulliver – even though he is small, his talent is enormous. Lately, he showed it off in Malaysia where he held his “G-Dragon 2013 1st World Tour: One of a Kind.”
The concert of the man who was listed as one of the “50 Reasons Why Seoul is the Best City” by CNN, started at around 8.00 PM with a loud scream from the fans who started to line up a day before the concert started. G-Dragon came out on stage in a glass car that resembled the Batman’s battle-car, probably portraying himself as the Joker and started to make the whole Stadium National Bukit Jalil go crazy with his latest single, “MichiGo.”
He continued the show with his hit song, “Heartbreaker” and “One of A Kind” which made fans singing every lines fluently together with the artist. With the help of the hologram technology, fans were able to see the duet between G-Dragon and Tablo for “Light It Up” and “The Leaders” with 2NE1‘s leader, CL.
Even though G-Dragon performed on his own, he proved that the big stage is nothing to him as later it changed into a playful dreamland as he started to perform the ballad song “Butterfly.” Sitting versatility in the middle of the stage, he once again used the power of hologram, as he started the next song, “Missing You” featuring Kim Yoon Ah of Jaurim. Seated on a throne he continued with “That XX” along with a acoustic guitar and move on to “Without You.”
G-Dragon did not stop to surprise the attendees as a big spaceship was escorted out as a large music deck and he turned into a DJ playing “Today.” He then continued with “Shine A Light” and started approaching the fans who were standing in the front area. After performing 10 songs without a break, he tried to catch a breath and welcomed his bestfriend, Taeyang who continued the show with 2 songs: “Where You At” and “Break Down.” Taeyang enthusiastically greeted the audience, saying, “Malaysia people who are here tonight are hot just like the weather”.
When G-Dragon came back on stage he continued his performance with “This Love” and “1 Year Station.” To vary the stage with new excitement, G-Dragon sang “Obsession” which has a heavy-rock feeling and GD was running around the stage and climbing high and low on the stage what helped him deliver the emotion of the song well. Adding up to the emotional-sphere, he continued with “She’s Gone.” He then changed the atmosphere rapidly with “Crayon.” Surprisingly, a familiar for everyone “Boom shakala ka! Boom Shalaka ka” could be heard, making the crowd hyped and dance to the choreography together with the artist.
When GD once again disappeared from the stage, fans were teased with a recorded video of him being the clown and asking fans to leave the stadium as the concert was already over. But, knowing a concert would not end without an encore, fans shouted for it and of course GD was generously giving them three songs for the encore, including “Breath” and “Bad Boy” which he performed together with Taeyang.
G-Dragon bid his farewell saying, “It’s time to say goodbye. Thank you for everything. Thank you for coming tonight. Thank you for always supporting me! I have so much fun tonight! I will never forget tonight. I promise to come back with my brothers BIGBANG, so please wait for us! And Please don’t forget me!” and has once again performed “MichiGo.”
