G-DRAGON made an appearance at the Young Choice Awards 2013 held at the Beijing Olympic Center on November 20th because he was nominated for the “Best Foreign Artist” award. The Young Choice Music Awards were hosted by YOUKU, the biggest video-streaming web-site in China.
The person captured handing G-DRAGON the trophy was China’s popular MC Du Hai Tao. He had publicly revealed that he is a fan of G-DRAGON. His first encounter with G-DRAGON was a long awaited one and he played it up with his ‘acting’ as he went down on one knee before handing G-Dragon the trophy to the amusement of the audience.
After receiving the award G-DRAGON said, “I thank Youku Tudou and Shenzhen TV who give me this precious award and I’m honored. I thank and love all Chinese fans who give me such a big support.”
Du Hai Tao later on snapped a photograph of himself and G-DRAGON on stage, while dancing along ‘Crayon Pop.’
An insider of the awards said, “About 10,000 spectators and officers of China’s leading entertainment agencies attended the awards. Plus, more than 500 fans gathered at the airport to see G-DRAGON coming to China, which proved his high popularity in China.”
G-DRAGON also staged special performances of “CROOKED” and “NILIRIA” with local fans singing along to the Korean lyrics of the songs.
