G-Friend are ready to join the crazy wave of comebacks this month and, despite being a rookie girl group, they sure represent a fierce competition for the bigger groups who have been here for a longer time.
The girls debuted in January with “Glass Bead” and achieved something that no one thought they would. Being a cute girl group from a small company (Source Music), they had a lot of competition to face, and it wouldn’t be easy to succeed. However, their debut was so amazing and unique that they went higher and higher in the charts, and were recognized not only by the K-Pop fans, but by many artists (especially Super Junior‘s Heechul) who became their fans and parodied their choreography.
Now, six months later, they’re ready for their first comeback, and they seem prepared to face all these other groups who are having their comebacks. On July 15th, G-Friend released the first video teaser for their comeback song “Flower Bud“, and although we can’t see their choreography in the video, the small part of the song that we can hear is as promising as “Glass Bead”.
In the teaser, the girls enjoy a picnic together in matching blue outfits. They look as cool as before, and a picnic seems like the perfect sequel of their debut music video, which was placed in a school, as if the girls were in the same class. In this teaser, I get the feeling that they got some free time after school and decided to go to the park. Check it out:
Do you think G-Friend have what it takes to face the fierce competition onstage? And what did you think of their comeback teaser? Let us know!
The music video for “Flower Bud” will be released along the girls’ second mini album “Sprite” on July 23rd, so stay tuned to check it out.
