G.Soul, newest R&B rookie under JYP Entertainment and Studio J, teamed up with Brand New Music artist and former JYP label mate, San E to bring life into an English classic.
The new single album was released by kt music. Both artists joined together to re-interpret Sade’s 80s hit ‘Smooth Operator’ adding new beats and all in Korean. G.Soul and San E wrote the lyrics while DJ Frants arranged the music.
The music video is a simple and could be classified as a lyric video in the shape of a music app on any mobile device. The song keeps the memorable chorus while adding G.Soul’s satin vocals to give it a kick. Mixed with the new arrangement and San E’s sharp rapping, this vintage song gets a brand new makeover.

‘Smooth Operator’ was Sade’s first top ten hit back in 1985 for the American music market. It comes from their single album ‘Diamond Life’ which has ‘Red Eye’ and ‘Spirit’ on the B-side. It was originally released in 1984 in the United Kingdom and was written by Sade Adu and Ray St. John. The song was such a hit it spent thirteen weeks on the charts and topped Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart for two weeks.
G.Soul just debuted last year after training for fifteen years and already had two comebacks. He is quickly gaining popularity for his amazing vocals and passion for music. Being a baby of the 80s, I grew up on Sade’s version and love this new rendition of their hit song. I will definitely be putting it on my playlist. Will you? Let us know how you liked the song.
