SEVENTEEN is back!
The thirteen-member group’s latest title track could not be more different to their last comeback with ‘Don’t Wanna Cry‘, but it’s different in the best way possible. Take a deep breath and hit play below!
‘Clap‘ is a rock-inspired dance track which will have Carats bobbing along from the very beginning. ‘Clap‘ is described as “applauding SEVENTEEN‘s first act which shows the group’s childhood“, which fits with the slightly rebellious tone of the song. A combination of heavy electric guitar and rock-style drumming creates an addictive beat. With the easy-to-sing hook on top of this, ‘Clap‘ will be stuck in your head for hours!
The music video for ‘Clap‘ has a bunch of references to SEVENTEEN‘s past activities and releases. See if you can spot any references to SEVENTEEN‘s sub-units’ solo tracks! Segments of the music video show the SEVENTEEN members filming a video of their own, as they become part of ‘Specialized Videotape Technology Inc.’ Clips of video-editing software also serve as a nod to the graphics used in SEVENTEEN‘s debut MV for ‘Adore U‘, and leader S.Coups‘ dive into the members’ arms mirrors a similar scene at the beginning of their ‘Mansae‘ MV.
SEVENTEEN‘s new title song ‘Clap‘ is another achievement for the ‘self-producing’ idol group, with Woozi‘s composing skills being accented by Hoshi‘s explosive choreography. Members Jeonghan, Mingyu, DK and Seungkwan also helped write the lyrics to ‘Clap‘ alongside Woozi and Hoshi.
