Get To Know Hanhae A Little Better In His #Hashtag Interview

In this latest 38th installment of 1theK‘s series #Interview, Phantom‘s Hanhae selected five hashtags to represent him and his solo song, “Man of the Year“. As always is the case with these interviews, new and old fans will learn something new!

1. #Proud_Year

He speaks about how he loves his name. He explains it:”Korean letter, ‘Han’ has a lot of great meanings. It means ‘big’, ‘many’ or ‘only’. His parents named his noona Byul (star) because she is a girl, and he is Hae (year), so it is Han Byul and Han Hae. He also revealed something from his trainee days with BlockB‘s Zico and their crew called “Buckwilds”. The funny thing, he says, he used to be a vocal when he was trainee for BlockB, so he practiced singing a lot.

2. #Man_Of_The_Year

This is the name of his title song for his debut album, “I will be your man of this year”. It’s kind of bad love song, about how he wants to be the best man for the girl he likes among all bad men out there.He also says he wants to be “Man of the year” and his mom is “Woman of the year”.

3. #365

365 is the name of his debut album. He explains why 365; “365 means 1 year. During one year I wrote lyrics and they are in this album, so this album is like my diary. This is what I really wanted to say. It shows who I am in 100% raw way”. If he could compare his album with Phantom’s he says; “Phantom’s is like well done and I’m rare.” Also he said there is really no one he could see everyday for 365 days with, beside his fans.

4. #Rock_Paper_Scissors

This is his second song that talks about relationships;”Whenever I have problem with my girlfriend, even if I didn’t do anything wrong, I always give up, right? The song talks about that. Girls have ability that makes them predict what guys are going to do.”

He played Rock, Paper, scissors with the staff and lost, sadly.

5. #MC_or_Vocals

Hanhae explains that he has his own singing style, but he not so good at it. His favorite vocal style is Lee Moonse. He added; “I was honored to work with Lena Park for the track called ‘Meet for a little bit’, I really liked the beat of the song, you have to listen what you are asked to do when you are featuring for someone, so there is a lot of limitations, but in that song I had fun because I could do what I wanted, so it was great, and Lena Park, she is a legend, so it was memorable for me. I have been her fan since I was little.”

He also said he really wants collaboration with Ailee; “I like Ailee, she is such a good singer,there is not a lot of people with that kind of unique emotions, she has that among many other things. I think it would be fun working with her.”
