With the debut of Girls’ Generation‘s second sub-unit Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG we’re looking back at one of their many iconic tracks, ‘Run Devil Run’. Check it out below!
Run Devil Run MV:
‘Run Devil Run’ was released on the 17th of March 2010 and quickly climbed the charts reaching number one on the Gaon Singles Chart for two weeks.
The song and music video shows a darker, fiercer and sexy version of Girls’ Generation that fans hadn’t seen before. The image was dubbed the ‘Dark SoShi concept’ by Sones when the song’s teasers and trailers were first released. With the song’s release came a strong image shift from the typically sweet and innocent Girls’ Generation to a more mature and powerful appearance.
The members show off their strong vocals in this electro-pop song with the lyrics a warning to unfaithful men in relationships. The choreography shows a more powerful and sultry image than what had been seen from them before the release of this song.
After the initial release of the song and MV, SM Entertainment also released a story version of the music video for ‘Run Devil Run‘ on the 30th of March 2010. Check it out below!
