The ‘School’ series is back in 2017!
The ‘School (학교)’ series has confirmed Gugudan‘s Kim Se-Jeong as the main lead in their 7th rendition. The series, which began in 1999, has produced movie stars like Jang Hyuk (‘Fated to Love You‘), Ha Ji Won (‘Secret Garden‘), Zo InSung (‘It’s Ok, It’s Love‘), as well as Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook (‘Goblin‘).
After a 10 year hiatus, the series resumed with ‘School 2013‘ which featured Lee Jong Suk (‘W‘) and Kim Woo Bin (‘Uncontrollably Fond‘), and ‘School 2015: Who Are You‘, featuring Kim So Hyun, Nam Joo Hyuk (‘Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo‘), and Yook Sung-Jae (Goblin).
On June 5th, Kim Se-Jeong‘s agency Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed that she will be playing the main character. Kim Se-Jeong will take the role of Ra Eun Ho, a cheerful high school student who aspires to get into a prestigious university in pursuit of her first love.
Kim Jung Hyun (‘Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People‘) has also been confirmed to play Hyun Tae Woon, a rebellious teenager who is the son of the school’s major investor. SF9’s RoWoon (‘Click Your Heart‘), Jang Dong Yoon (‘Solomon’s Perjury‘), Seol In- Ah (‘Strong Woman Do Bong Soon‘) and Han Joo Hwan (‘Wang Family‘) will also be joining the cast.
The drama will be directed by Park Jin Suk, who led the drama ‘The Tale of the Bookworm‘ and ‘Naked Fireman‘. School 2017 will air in July, and take over the time-slot of the current drama ‘Fight My Way‘.
