After 16 episodes, Korean drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’ reached its end and left fans all over the world depressed with no idea how to deal with the end of their favorite TV series.
I am one of those miserable fans. I am absolutely obsessed with ‘Cheese in the Trap.’ I read the webtoon even before the drama started airing, I watched every episode as soon as English subtitles were provided, and rewatched old episodes while waiting for new ones to air. I even filled my iPod with songs from the drama’s original soundtrack. And now, when the show just had its finale, I am legit depressed.
But, the show must go on, we have to go back to life as it was before we fell into the Trap and here are eight tips on how to cope when your favorite show ends.
1. Accept the reality and move on
Okay. I promise this is the worst hint on the list. We already know it’s impossible to move on. Moving on is what cowards do. And we didn’t get so emotionally immersed in the story just to come back to our lives right away. Let’s think about other solutions.
2. Hold the writers hostage
Now, this is only for those currently residing in South Korea, or those who have enough money to fly to Seoul and deal with the legal aftermath later. Find the writers, hide them somewhere, and agree on letting them go if they promise to work on another season of the drama.
3. Send complaints to the network
‘Cheese in the Trap’ didn’t meet its natural end – the webtoon is still not finished, the story is still developing. This alone is a good reason to make the show go on indefinitely. Let the network, tvN, feel the pressure. There has to be something they can do!
4. Eat a cake. Or ice cream. Or both.
It’s okay. Everyone deserves a big cake when going through a horrible break-up (kind of). Treat yourself!
5. Drink. Drink a lot.
If you are of age, of course. We do not promote underage drinking.
6. Watch the whole drama over and over again
Only if you’re not already doing this.
7. Find other fans to cry together
Don’t keep your misery to yourself. There are more people like you. And you know what they say – misery loves company.
8.Look for other dramas or movies the actors/actresses are in.
There’s a lot to choose from. Find one to get your favorite actor by your side again. But be careful! You don’t want to be obsessed again and have to go through all those steps of post-drama misery again.
When your favorite drama ends, it can feel like the world is over. I am not sure if you will find the hints useful or not, just know that it’s okay to feel down for a while. Just let the time do its job. And remember – you are not alone! We at Officially KMusic are here for you if you need company!
Just to make the situation a little bit worse, listen to one of the drama’s soundtracks, ‘Such,’ sung by Kang Hyeon Min and Urban Zakapa’s Jo Hyuna.
Goodbye Hong Seol, Yoo Jung sunbae, Baek In Ho, Baek In Ha, Bora and Euntaek. We will miss you!
