Hoya has made his official solo debut with the release of his first solo mini album ‘Shower‘ and the title track ‘All Eyes On Me’.
Given the name of the title track ‘All Eyes On Me’, it’s clear that Hoya is ready to shine in the spotlight after his departure from INFINITE last year.
The track is a R&B/hip-hop fusion that was written by Hoya and NiiHWA and composed by NiiHWA. The finished product is at times catchy and addictive, but at other times, it’s a little subdued for my liking.
However, given that this is his first solo outing, it’s almost as if Hoya is testing the water and making a concerted effort to differentiate himself from his days as a member of INFINITE. After giving the song a few listens it definitely grows on you.
In the accompanying music video the talented performer pulls off the choreography with simplicity and style – which, let’s face it, is nothing less than we would expect of him.
The clip suits the style of the song, and continues on with the feeling of addictive hooks and more subdued moments. His dancing remains the highpoint of the music video.
