On July 29th, Hoya injured his ankle on KBS‘s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and was taken to the hospital to have it evaluated, returning to the doctor again on the 30th to have a cast put on. Originally, Woolim reassured fans that the injury was nothing serious and not to worry. However, reports have been released that the reality for Hoya could be far worse than Inspirits were lead to believe.
A representative has said that a recent check-up has revealed that the original injury when he twisted his ankle was a much more serious twisting injury that has lead to tendon damage and cartilage inflammation. This sort of injury is treated very seriously and is typically treated with a minimum of two months in a cast, rest and medicine for pain, swelling and to treat infection.
There is a serious and very real concern not just for Hoya’s pain and rehabilitation, but also for all of INFINITE. They have a seven-day concert series planned to start on August 7th called “That Summer 2” in Seoul. With Hoya injured, the rest of the group is reportedly already learning adjusted choreography. Reports say that Hoya is willing to do the show as planned for the sake of the fans, but no official decision has been made. Many fans have expressed concern for their beloved Hoya’s well-being, urging him to sing his part in a chair and let a back-up dancer take his place in the choreography, citing the seriousness of the injury and a desire for him to avoid any long-term damage.
We here at Officially KMusic hope that a quick decision is made and that it takes in to account not just the fans but Hoya’s well-being as well. We love INFINITE and Hoya, so we always want the best for them when it comes to their health and happiness. Stay tuned for updates as they become available!
