After seven years together, the successful K-Pop sextet BEAST will become a quintet.
On April 19th, the group’s agency, Cube Entertainment, confirmed that BEAST’s vocalist and dancer Hyunseung has decided to leave the group.
It was revealed that the decision was made after much talk amongst the members. The reason behind Hyunseung’s departure is said to be a difference in music opinion and personality.
The news followed reports about Hyunseung’s alleged lost of interest in the group’s promotions and absence at a fan meeting last September. Cube Entertainment explained then that he could not attend the event because of personal reasons, but fans posted photos of him having coffee with a woman. Hyunseung then posted an apology on BEAST’s fan cafe, saying that there are no excuses and that he blames himself for the controversy. He also vowed to reflect on his actions.
Cube Entertainment revealed that they are not planning to supplement BEAST’s loss of Hyunseung with a new member, and that Doojoon, Yoseob, Dongwoon, Kikwang and Junhyung will continue as a five-member group and are planning to release new album this year.
We wish Hyunseung all the best in his future endeavours and are keeping our fingers crossed for BEAST!
