Every idol group in K-Pop has at least one member who always makes pranks and brightens up the atmosphere. KMUSIC has prepared a list of male idols who makes us laugh on variety shows.
Note: the idols below were subjectively chosen by the author.
2AM‘s Jo Kwon
He definetely deserves the title of the funniest idol in K-Pop industry. Jo Kwon is often invited by many TV stations in Korea because of his funny personality. He often shows off his playful and frivolous dance gags, especially when he dresses up as a girl group’s member. He is also known for his kkab dance.
2PM‘s Wooyoung
It is hard to believe that this charismatic vocalist of 2PM is well-known for his cheap dance. He knows how to make fans laugh with his funny jokes and quick wit. Wooyoung even created catch-phrase “I’m curious about something…” and earned the nickname “Curious Wooyoung”.
EXO-K‘s Chanyeol
The original owner of the nickname “Happy Virus”. He once said: “No matter how hard it is, I always smile like an idiot” and he does look happy whenever camera spots him. And it’s really hard not to smile while looking at him.
Super Junior‘s Shindong
He actually got into SM Entertainment by passing the comedy section of the audition. Shindong is skilled at teasing others, setting a good mood and making jokes. His talents were noticed by comedians who invited him for their shows.
MBLAQ‘s Lee Joon
Lee Joon has two personalities: he can be very manly during performances, and silly on TV programs. He was cast as a permanent cast member on the television shows “The Star Golden Bell Challenge” and “Oh! My School”. But let the video do the talking.
BIG BANG’s Seungri
The group’s maknae was chosen as the funniest guest on “Strong Heart”. His voice imitations of YG Entertainment‘s CEO, BIG BANG‘s members and many other stars receive a lot of praises.
INFINITE‘s Dongwoo
He really spreads “happy virus” all around him. He even earned the nickname “Smile Man”. Dongwoo is also know as the ‘gummed angel’ among the INFINITE’s members because he has a beautiful smile. His laugh it’s kind of higher pitch than normal so, when a lot of people are laughing at the same time, you can still distinguish Dongwoo’s laugh.
VIXX‘s Ken
He is actually the only member who made VIXX’s charismatic member, Leo, laugh. He knows how to make pranks and that’s why fans love him.
ZE:A‘s Kwanghee
He was chosen as the second funniest member on “Strong Heart”, alongside BIG BANG’s Seungri. He is the biggest rival of 2AM’s Jo Kwon when it comes to playful and frivolous dance gags as well as dressing up as a girl group’s member.
Brian Joo
He is well known for making funny conversation in English as well as frivolous dance gags. Thanks to his quick wit he is often invited to variety shows.
