IU claims she is Confident Because she is ‘Not Pretty’

As you know, IU is known to be one of the most beautiful and cute artists in the industry, but during a press conference she attended along side her co-star, Jo Jung Suk, for the upcoming drama ‘You’re The Best Lee Soon Shin‘, she claimed the unusual.

During the press conference, IU was asked what kind of charm she would bring as Lee Soon Shin. She answered brightly with, “If you watch a lot of dramas, in the beginning a lot of the main female characters are described as not pretty, but the male characters love them anyway. But even though the lead actresses aren’t supposed to be pretty, they’re actually very pretty. I’m confident that I can look not so pretty without any effects or makeup,” explaining that she is trying to bring realism to the drama.

In the subject of acting, she had confessed that she had been really worried. IU said, “I was really worried. A role in a KBS weekend drama is incredible. I worried a lot about if I should actually do it. But the director, the writers, and other staff made me believe I can. I acted with their trust. I’m going to work hard at both my music and acting promotions.” 

Jo Jung Suk apparently has his own worries too. He said, “When people heard that I was going to be IU’s boyfriend in the drama, even my family called me a cradle-robber. As long as it’s okay with IU, I’m going to work hard at the relationship.” When asked about the kissing scenes, he wittily replied, “We’re still at the arguing stage, so I don’t know when it’ll come out. I’m prepared for the criticism though.”  “We don’t have a romantic scenes yet. My fans told me, ‘Film without any NGs, and [only kiss] once,’ but I think we’re going to have to do it many times. I’m going to work hard.” In addition, IU said “We don’t have any romantic scenes yet. My fans told me, ‘Film without any NGs, and only kiss once,’ but I think we’re going to have to do it many times. I’m going to work hard.”

The airing of the drama is set to be March 9th.
