Uaenas worldwide, the long wait is finally over! Loen Entertainment‘s very own charming and darling singer and songwriter IU released not only one, not only two, but 3 enchanting and promising teasers – heart-wrecking yet mellow R&B “The Shower,” bubbly and upbeat “Shoes,” and just recently the pop-ballad “Zezé” for its 4th mini-album “CHAT-SHIRE“.
Starting off with this mellow dramatic-like teaser of IU in a monochromatic setting, it seems like she’s soaked from rain or drizzle, symbolizing “The Shower.” This emotional teaser gives you that emotional roller-coaster ride as IU mesmerizes you with her innocent face, as if telling you, “everything will be alright” despite the problem or conflict you have. It’s like having a rainbow after the rain feeling.
This song was actually performed in one of the episodes of Infinity Challenge and its teaser was released last October 13, 2015 at midnight.
Be captivated and prepare those rolls of tissues as this first teaser will surely stab your feels right straight to your hearts!
On the second teaser, it was an exact opposite to the first teaser as IU depicts a Korean version of Dorothy Gale from 1939 MGM film adaptation “The Wizard of Oz.” The teaser starts with a zoom-in motion towards IU and music starts after she pressed the button on what it seems to be a CF for color red SONY‘s h.ear series headphones. Jumping back and forth like an innocent girl, playing on the swings, and riding a wooden rocking horse, and holding a red balloon in what it seems to be her world, dressed in a simple white dress, there are some parts of it that will freak or creep you out (yikes!) and opening a box with a pair of ruby-colored shoes that resembles the original pair of ruby slippers used in “The Wizard of Oz“ film. After clicking her shoes and saying “There’s no place like home!” she disappeared as if she was transported in another dimension or world, releasing the balloon flying through the air! Its teaser was released last October 16th at midnight.
Have fun with this happy and upbeat track teaser video of IU and let that inner child come out to play!
On the third teaser, it is a stop-motion animation type of music video depicting IU as an orange tree, and it is somehow has a similar concept with YouTube sensation and singer-songwriter Kina Grannis‘ “In Your Arms” music video (check out the video here). IU as the orange tree, overcomes different hurdles in everyday life, from the pesky worms, terrifying people (as shown as hand shadows) and ending it by calling “Zezé” to rescue and accompany her.
Its concept was based on the Brazilian autobiographical novel by José Mauro de Vasconcelos, My Sweet Orange Tree (Meu Pé de Laranja Lima), having its protagonist’s name, the 8 year old boy “Zezé”, as song title. The track itself has this funky, indie yet retro-like piano instrumental beat, complimenting the teaser. Its music video teaser was released last October 20th at midnight.
Let’s enjoy and be amazed by this literary and poetic teaser of IU, and together call Zezé!
The music videos all end with a different concept showing a pop-up image of its concept in an what it seems to be like a fairytale map. In addition to this, all three out 7 songs plus another 2 bonus tracks( “Heart” and “23“), where IU herself took part in the composition and lyric writing for all songs part of her 4th mini-album “CHAT-SHIRE” to be digitally released on October 23rd at midnight and physically be distributed by the 27th this month. Truly, it will be another fantasy theme and concept-filled album and music videos from IU, as it is evident on its Cheshire Cat-like from Disney’s take on Lewis Carroll‘s “Alice in Wonderland” animated film concept photo teaser of her.
She will also be holding a a national concert tour at the Olympic Park, Olympic Hall in Seoul on November 21st and 22nd, followed by Busan, Daegu and Gwangju as part of its album launch campaign for her 4th mini-album “CHAT-SHIRE”.
