On December 1st, brand new girl group IVE debuted with their music video for their title track, ‘ELEVEN’. This comes off their simultaneously released 1st single album of the same name. In the lead up to this group’s debut, the Starship Entertainment act features two former members of the popular project girl group IZ*ONE.
Although former members such as Eunbi and Jo Yuri have made their post solo debuts, this is the first debut to have members from the acclaimed 12-member group debut within a group. Members Yujin and 1st place taker from ‘Produce 48’ from which the group was formed; Wonyoung are within this 6 member lineup (Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo). The members in this group are born between the range of 2003-2007, making the youngest member, Leeseo, aged 14.

IVE ‘ELEVEN’ MV:
Lyrically, this debut song talks about a girl falling in love with their various charms. Its instrumental takes on Middle Eastern or Indian influences creating the hook. This unique blend introduces the track and shows itself in full colours in the final two choruses to bring an extra energy the otherwise more elegant sounding tune.
Another notable feature is that there is no rap section here, instead a slow-down one liner leading up to the choruses. This lack of rap doesn’t interfere with the enjoyment though and keeps the song going with its constant tempo. The single sung line before the chorus fits strangely however acts as a vehicle to spirit into the breezy refrain.
IVE‘s debut single album, ‘ELEVEN’ featuring the identically named title track is available now!
