To an actor, your craft is a reflection of your craft, this is something actor Jang Geun Suk can tell you. Before he dreamed of becoming a great thespian but now he learned the meaning of acting: choosing the story that pulls you. In a recent interview he discussed his recent drama “Beautiful Man”, which leaves viewers questioning whether his will power can revive the drama from its critical state, and have it surpass the recently ended “The Heirs”. The dramas fate is still uncertain.
While many may wonder why Jang Geun Suk would choose such a project, he revealed his reasons to why he was attracted to such a role, “I believed that the acting as Dokko Ma Te would push me to the next level as an actor, as Dokko Ma Te meets each of these ten women and shows a different side of himself to each, and grows with each experience. I was really excited while waiting for filming to start.I’m feeling a sense of responsibility for saying that I wanted to make a name for myself as actor Jang Geun Suk. Those are the words that I said, and while others may laugh at me, I will do my best to keep that promise. That is my life’s motto. I want to show my sincere acting to the television audience through Dokko Ma Te.”
He also added, “I believed that if one concentrated, read the script and acted using their head, and gained experience, anyone could do it. However, I think rather than using my head, I have to act from my heart. That is something I am eager to do as an actor.”
Jang Geun Suk made his debut at the tender age of 5 as a child actor. For his twenty year experience, he has a vast knowledge of the industry regardless of his star status. He revealed he would like to be able to connect with his television views through his acting, rather then relying on his looks and celebrity status. As he matured as an actor he has learned that acting is nothing like driving a car, it his his efforts that will take him far. Jang Geun Suk takes his craft very seriously.
