Fans of Jeon Somi, worry no longer! On September 24th, YG Entertainment‘s sub-label, The Black Label, has confirmed that Somi has signed an exclusive contract with them!
The Black Label Announcement:
It reads ” Jeon Somi has recently signed a contract with producer Teddy and The Black Label, who Zion.T is a member of.
On September 24th, The Black Label said “We have signed an exclusive contract with Jeon Somi, who has proven her talents as an artist and has infinite potential. Through various trials and activities, we will wholeheartedly support her to become a world class artist.”
He also said that she is most likely to debut as a solo singer rather than as a girl group member or a trainee for a quick debut.”
The article goes on to explain Somi‘s illustrious career so far. It also outlines The Black Label‘s future intentions of expanding their spectrum through Zion.T, signing new artists as well as R&B artists
Somi has been well known for many years since her first appearance on the Children’s Day special of Let’s Go! Dream Team (S2) in 2013.

In 2015, she gained even more popularity after appearing on JYP Entertainment‘s survival show ‘SIXTEEN’. She was eliminated in the final round, missing her chance to debut as a member of TWICE.

She tried again on MNET’s survival show Produce 101 in 2016, and won, debuting in May 2015 as the center for project girl group I.O.I.
