On December 29th actor Ji Chang Wook made a guest appearance on MBC’s “Section TV.” He discussed the impressively high ratings of his MBC Monday-Tuesday drama “Empress Ki.”
The actor admitted to being not very knowledgeable of his drama’s success, saying, “Truthfully, I’m in the middle of filming so I don’t really know much.” He added, “Sometimes I receive messages of praise from people around me. When I see those messages, I think, ‘Ah, they are enjoying the drama.”
During the interview he managed to be humble when discussing the show’s ratings. He told the MC and viewers that its not just him but its also the staff, producers, writers, his cast mates, and crew that have helped Empress Ki break the 20% ratings barrier. Ji Chang Wook stated, “I think about 1-2% is due to my efforts. 2% out of 20% is 1 out of 10. I think that’s being pretty generous.”
The Monday-Tuesday drama Empress Ki is doing exceptionally well in the battle for high ratings even though it is no where near the 50 episode mark. The drama will have a temporary delay due to “2013 MBC Acting Awards” and the “2013 MBC Gayo Daejun” specials. The show will be unofficially back on January 1st with a 120-minute special then continue its regular broadcast schedule on January 6th.
