This has certainly been a week filled with Jonghyun, and it’s not nearly over yet! The SHINee member has been swarming us with teasers for his upcoming solo debut, and had most recently revealed his tracklist for the album, “Base.” The latest addition is a highlight medley, which dropped on January 8th, giving us a little preview of what the full album will be like.
Jonghyun has already revealed two of the tracks off of the album, “Deja-Boo” and “Love Belt,” and if the constant updates on his Twitter are any indication, the man himself is just as excited about the solo debut as we fans are. The highlight medley was released through Naver, and gives us an opportunity to hear the songs we haven’t been exposed to yet, including “NEON,” “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure),” “It’s Late (Beautiful Tonight),” (which some may have heard via MBC’s “Blue Night” radio show in the past) “Hallelujah,” and “MONO-Drama.”
Overall, the album so far has a real laid-back vibe. Some of the songs have a funky edge, there’s a heavy R&B influence, and a couple of slower jams as well. “Crazy” caught my attention the most, because it didn’t sound anything like what I thought it would. Based on the teaser we saw for the music video, I assumed it would have a bit of a harder edge to it. However, I do really like it, and I’m anxious to hear the whole song, as well as the rest of the album in its entirety. Aren’t you?
Check out the highlight medley below:
Be sure to stick around for more updates on Jonghyun’s debut, as we still have a solo stage and music video to experience. What do you think of the medley? Are you more excited now that you’ve heard it? Share your thoughts below, and look forward to more news soon.
