At the same press conference when JYJ’s Junsu shared about his thoughts on the ending of legal battle between JYJ and SM Entertainment, he made a statement on singer Psy.
He said, “Achieving Billboard Top 10 is hard even for American singers, so for Psy to reach top two with a song sang in Korean was an amazing accomplishment. Realistically, I think it would be hard for other Korean singers to break his record, except maybe Psy himself. Perhaps, and hopefully, we could be the one to break the record.”
“Music is not like soccer where you can keep a clear score. When I say my goal is to succeed in music, what I mean is to improve people’s view on K-Pop music,” he continued.
He shared how he came to know “Gangnam Style“: When he was in US to shoot “Uncommitted” MV, a US actor whom he worked with showed him “Gangnam Style” MV on a cellphone.
Junsu has been a member of the five member TVXQ. The group went into hiatus following a contract dispute with SM Entertainment filed by Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu. In 2010, TVXQ returned as a duo while the other three members continue their activities under JYJ.
The singer is currently on a solo world tour and has additionally revealed that a new JYJ album will be released next year.
