K-Drama: “Producer” Kicks Off With Great Start! But Did Everyone Like It? Not Likely

Highly anticipated K-Drama “Producer” finally aired its first two episodes with amazing two-digit ratings! This drama was one of the most anticipated dramas because it brings us one of the best names in the industry back to the small screen.

Kim Soohyun is back after his hit drama, “My Love From Another Star”, which was his ticket to Hallyu status and gave him his first Best Actor Grand (Daesang) Award. He is playing Baek Seungchan, a rookie employee at KBS’s Variety Show department, he took the job to follow his first crush!

Also starring is Gong Hyojin  (It’s okay, that’s Love and Master’s Sun who I  personally believe to be one of the best actresses in Korea. She is playing Tak Yejin, a main PD (producer) for KBS’s popular music show “Music Bank”.

IU (Lee Jieun) (Pretty Man), if you are a kpopper, you know who she is and there is no need for further introduction. I can dare say one of the best voices in Korea and an amazing actress. She has always had this innocent image, but here you will see a completely different IU, because Cindy ( the roles she’s playing) is a cold ice princess, arrogant and emotionless.

The last, not least, veteran actor Cha Taehyun, who is back after almost three years of hiatus, playing senior PD.  Who despite being in the industry for more than 10 years, has never been able to make his name in the industry.

If you like me have always wondered how these big broadcast companies, like KBS work behind the scenes we finally get a closer look at the industry.

I always wondered how everything work in the Korean Entertainment Industry and what kind of system really exists.

I find this drama really interesting, but watching the first two episodes I saw a lot of comments that the drama is not what most of the people expected.

This is not a drama for you if you are a just getting into in K-dramas and Korean variety shows, because many  of you will find it boring and you will not understand anything, because the plot itself may be confusing if you dont understand the concept behind these shows.
