To mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Singapore, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea has invited the UAngel Voice Choir to perform as well a hanbok fashion show showcasing designs from the famous fashion designer, Lee Young Hee, at Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre Hall E on the 5th December 2015.
Having performed in various countries such as Tokyo, New York and many more, UAngel Voice Choir had shown a spectacular performance that very night with their heavenly voices. They also had managed to connect with the audience really well with their humour.
One lucky girl was chosen to come up on stage as it turned out to be her birthday that night. The five boys dressed smartly in black and gold suits serenaded the little girl while giving roses to her and ended the special event with a teddy bear given to the cute little girl.
They performed a few songs including ‘Le Temps Des Cathédrales,’ ‘You Raise Me Up’ as well as the popular song ‘You Are My Destiny’ from the popular Korean drama, ‘You Who Came From The Star’ acted by the beautiful actress, Jun Ji Hyun, and talented actor, Kim Soo Hyun.
Right after UAngel Voice Choir, the audience was then being charmed by the beauty of the hanboks showcased during Lee Young Hee Hanbok Fashion Show. The respectable designer who has designed hanboks for the first ladies of Korea impressed the audience with the designs of the hanboks and made everyone in the audience took photos of every design showcased that night.
The hanboks presented that night portrayed both modern and traditional designs. The modern designs seemed to portray a mixture of both the Western and Eastern influences. It might just be the next thing celebrities wear on the red carpet!
Unlike any other fashion show, this fashion show got everyone laughing when the male model who was showcasing the dopo, an outfit very much associated with Korean scholars during Joseon period, came out with a book and other female models who were showcasing the hanboks tried to ‘distract’ him from studying.
As this entire event was the finale event for the 2015 Korea Festival, it is definitely an eye-opener to people all over the world to get to know the beauty of Korea even more!
