As part of their 2024 North American tour, Epik High returned to LA to perform at The Wiltern on August 28th. Although the show was originally slated to take place at the Hollywood Palladium, it was switched over to the historic Koreatown venue for a more intimate show.
Starting off with “PRETTY MUCH (INTRO),” it was almost symbolic of a calm before the storm as the trio officially kicked it up a notch next with one of their newest songs, “ANTIHERO.” Next on the setlist was another high-energy song, taking fans on a trip down memory lane with “Fly.” The hip hop trio continued on with their setlist of songs old and new, performing “NO THANXXX,” “LATE CHECKOUT,” “Eternal Sunshine,” and “GROUP CHAT FREESTYLE” within their next segment. Taking brief pauses to talk, tell stories, and joke around, the group also weaved slower and more upbeat songs together throughout the show, allowing fans (and themselves) quick breaks here and there.
With such a vast discography and a variety of genres within their discography, Tablo, DJ Tukutz, and Mithra Jin kept things interesting by constantly switching it up. Performances jumped from energetic songs like “Rosario,” originally featuring CL and ZICO, to slower songs like “Screen Time,” which originally features Hoshi of SEVENTEEN. Classic Epik High tracks like “One” and “High Technology” had the crowd on their feet jumping, singing, and dancing along, while songs like “HOME IS FAR AWAY” had everyone swaying in place while singing instead.
Wrapping up their show, the hip hop legends performed one of their most popular songs and a definite crowd favorite, “Don’t Hate Me.” Amidst loud shouts, splashing the audience with water, and encouraging fans to wield their iconic “Park Kyu Bong” lightstick, the group also made sure to express their gratitude towards their fans for always returning to see them once more.
Epik High always puts on a spectacular show, and this time around was no different. Pumping up the energy and proving they can still party hard with their fans, the night was truly unforgettable.
Special thank you to the team for allowing Officially Kmusic to attend!
