CARATS surrounded the Verizon Theater in Grand Prairie, Texas in packs this past Wednesday for SEVENTEEN‘s ‘Diamond Edge’ Tour. This was the group’s second U.S. stop on their first North America tour. The Texas heat was nearly unbearable, but to fans, not getting their ideal location in line was even more unbearable.
‘Diamond Edge’ was a very promoted and anticipated event ever since the group debuted in 2015. Hoshi was unable to attend the Chicago concert due to illness. With love from his fans and lots of rest, he recovered in time for Wednesdays’ show. An earlier KMUSIC article stated “The announcement was made by PLEDIS Entertainment via Seventeen‘s official Facebook page and stated that Hoshi would not be able to participate in activities for the time being due to illness. According to reports, Hoshi sought medical assistance and has been diagnosed with Enteritis (inflammation of the intestine) at a hospital in the United States where the band is currently undertaking their ‘Diamond Edge’ tour.”
Most recently, the group made a comeback with the track ‘Don’t Wanna Cry.’ They have also recently been nominated for Teen Choice Music‘s ‘Choice International Artist’ award.
The doors opened a tad early at 6:00 PM as fans crowded all possible walking paths. They swarmed the parking lots in waves leading up to the steps into venue doors. Once inside, fans rushed to their seats and began prepping to see their bias take the stage. VVIP tickets included a set of 15 L-holder files and many fans brought hand fans and light sticks to show support. In a special fan video, fans teared up saying what being a CARAT meant to them.
Fans showed support as time grew closer by turning on their light stick to be noticed as an upbeat pastel video painted all the members in their own lights. While the lights dimmed down, the room erupted in an uproar and the boys took the stage.
SEVENTEEN kicked off the night with their single ‘Pretty U,’ to which fans that knew the choreography were clearly seen showing off their moves in the stands. Fans showed their excitement to see that Hoshi had recovered by chanting and screaming for the group. The night was filled with festivities and dance battles; members, The8 and Mingyu, competed in one of their own. The members all proclaimed that their Dallas fans seemed to be their most active audience yet! They also acknowledged the Texas heat, as Seungkwan repeated quite often.
The members finished the concert with their most recent signature comeback song ‘Don’t Wanna Cry’ and were led into three more encore songs. As SEVENTEEN professed their excitement for this stop of the tour, fans reciprocated the love with cheers and positive energy.
A huge thank you to PLEDIS Entertainment and My Music Taste for this opportunity and many thanks to SEVENTEEN and their crew for a wonderfully fantastic show.
