April 2nd, Sydney Darling Harbour. The park is full of fans for the final 10 amateur k-pop groups, performing live covers of iconic K-pop dances. The hosts for the night, SBS PopAsia’s Andy Trieu and Jamaica dela Cruz arrive on scene, and kick the night off thanking the Sydney Korean Festival organisers Korean Cultural Office for hosting the event.
The performances by all ten contestants (MINT, K-OTIC, AO Crew, RE%, The Bearded School Boy, A2N, ENIXUS, 61XX, LoYEE Liew and Monochrome) were all impressive – they had all clearly worked hard and trained for the night, some even flying in from Melbourne and Adelaide to compete for the chance to win the right to represent Australia at the K-POP world festival in Korea.
Whilst the judges were deciding who would place, SBS PopAsia gave 2 tickets away to the upcoming B.A.P Live On Earth 2016 World Tour. Girls were chosen at random to dance off to iconic B.A.P songs, and were chosen to receive tickets by crowd voting. After this positive vibe, the contestants all came out on stage as they announced the winners.
Third place, K-OTIC, performed Someone like u by Dal Shabet & Daddy by PSY.
Second place, A2N, performed, BTD by INFINITE.
AND FOR FIRST PLACE:
AO CREW, performed Chained Up by VIXX.
