Korea’s respectable Hip Hop duo LeeSsang recently performed to a sold out showcase and fan meet in Singapore!
Kicking off their Asian Tour in the said country, LeeSsang’s showcase was held on November 30th followed by a fan meet held at City Square Mall on December 1st.
The talented duo performed for the first time in Singapore with fans erupting in cheers when they appeared on stage. LeeSsang, who’s known for their chart topping albums and singles, started off their showcase held at Shanghai Dolly with four songs namely “겸손은 힘들어 (Modesty is hard), “Turned Off The TV”, “나란 놈은 답은 너다” (You’re the answer to a guy like me) and “헤어지지 못하는 여자, 떠나 가지 못하는 남자” (The girl who cant breakup, the boy who can’t leave). Fans sang together with them waving their hands in the air.
Having ended the first set of performances, the duo greeted the crowd and said “We’re supposed to go back stage after the third song but the energy in the crowd is so amazing that we got carried away and continued with the forth song. There are no rules tonight so just let your hair down.”
Host Ken then started a round of questions from eager fans. Among the questions asked were those about marriage. Gary said, “Singapore girls are so pretty I have no plans of getting married yet!” The crowd disagreeing with him then started screaming “Song Ji Hyo! Song Ji Hyo!” who is Gary’s other half in popular variety show Running Man. The pair is affectionately known as “Monday Couple”.
Gil was then asked his favorite song. To this he replied that Gary’s new solo song, which will be coming out in February next year, is his favourite song. Gary then added that he will be back in Singapore after the release of his solo album. LeeSsang also shared their thoughts about their new album which will be released in April next year.
The duo later moved on to the games segment where a lucky fan was invited on stage to play the pepero game prepared by Gil for Gary. Gary and the fan bit the ends of a pepero stick and as they inch closer, Gil pushed Gary towards the fan causing them to kiss! The whole venue roared into cheers leaving Gary embarrassed by his actions. They then took Polaroids and with that ended the games segment.
LeSsang then continued their performance with songs from their previous albums, ending the showcase with “만나” (Lets meet). Fans called out for an encore, and once again the duo came on stage singing the last song for the evening, ‘Rush‘. Fans that can’t get enough of the duo stayed on and continued to call out for LeeSsang. Moments after, the duo once again appeared on stage to thank fans for their endless support and promised to have more fan interactions the next day during the fan meet.
Following the showcase, enthusiastic fans proved their unwavering support for LeeSsang as they started queuing -since the wee hours of the morning- just to be the first in line for the fanmeet.
Starting off, host Ken got the crowd excited when he picked 30 lucky fans to have their pictures taken with LeeSsang. Not long after, fans started cheering upon the arrival of their beloved duo.
They were also asked what their favourite food in Singapore was to which Gary exclaimed, “Chili Crab!!” while Gil said that there’s no food that he dislikes. The fan meet continued with a high 5 session for the category 1 ticket holders.
As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. LeeSsang bid their goodbyes saying “Because you are part of LeeSsang, we are part of Singapore too. We will see you soon and this time, there will be more handshakes and tight hugs!”
It’s been an incredible two days of great music and good fun; we would like to thank organizers, Fast Track Events for inviting us to this event!
